Farin Ruwa Waterfalls day tour (from Abuja)

The Farin Ruwa Falls are among the highest waterfalls in Nigeria and are located in the central region of the country. The name comes from Hausa and means ‘white water’. From the distance the fall produces a white-smoke like effect on the mountains. The water drops over 150 meter during its descent from the Jos Plateau. The falls are most impressive when visited during the rainy season.

The forest surrounding the falls is also perfect for a small hike and to go bird watching as there have been 148 bird species identified within the area of which fifteen are in need of conservation, making this an important site to be protected and cherished.

For our tour we leave at 6 am as it takes 4 hours to get to the site. It is a half hour to the waterfall where you’ll have to discover the falls and the area. After lunch it is time to drive back to Abuja.

Please bring adequate clothing, sunscreen, packed lunch and enough water.
